The Office gopher ~ Have you ever felt like this?

I run around the office With deliveries to make. I should have been a waitress, For all the crap I take. The supervisor needs coffee, His secretary wants tea. The higher up executive Demands I sit upon his knee. The accountant needs new ledgers The mail clerk needs more mail Payroll yells ... "Go for Checks" While the comptroller raises Hell. Whenever I took this job, I didn't know what I was doing! I fell and broke my leg ... I gopher so much, Now, it's the company - I'm suing.

Author Note:

I use to work as a receptionist for a large Corporate publishing Company in Dallas, Texas. Although I was hired to be a receptionist, I soon became the "Gopher" for all those that came and went through those front doors of that company. I often wondered if they even noticed me or knew my name.

I wrote this poem and it was published in the companies magazine. It became the talk of the week! I guess they got the message!
