Author Note: I know there are thousands of Receptionists out there in Corporate Land that have felt the same feelings, so I dedicate this to you. I use to work as a receptionist for a large Corporate publishing Company in downtown Dallas, Texas. I often wondered if they even noticed me or knew my name.
From the Mail Clerk to the President, Each employee thinks I already know their names As they nod and grab their messages, and head Out the door to play employee games.I have sixty-seven names and numbers, None of which are my own.
As the new receptionist, I'm expected Not to hold the phone.
Really, I just started here, and I Don't know who these people are,...
I'll just keep placing phone calls as someone yells, "Hold all my calls, I'm headed to the bar!"

I wrote this poem and it was published in the companies magazine. It became the talk of the week! I guess they got the message!
